Training course on Development and Implementation of rice husk CHP plant (26-30/10/2015)

An Giang province in cooperation with Lulea University, An Giang-Sweden Project Management Unit and Company of Environment, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency held  the Training Course in Development and implementation of rice husk power plant projects from October 26 -30, 2015 at Information Technology Center - Department of Information and Communication.

 This is one of the activities within the framework of the cooperation program between An Giang province and Sweden in the field of environment and renewable energy. This course help the selected enterprises develop the pre-feasibility study for their rice husk power plant project based on their business plan from previous financial engineering courses. 

There are 15 participants from local departments, universities and enterprises in An Giang province who have technical expertise and proficiency in English. Senior lecturers of the course are 02 professor from Luleå University of Technology (Sweden): Prof. Björn Kjellstrom and Prof. Jan Dahl and Prof. Nguyen Thi Van Ha (University of Natural Resources and Environment, HCM city).


The training course was held by PMU, Luleå University of Technology and and Company of Environment, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency from 26/10 until 30/10/ 2015.

During the training course, the participants were equipped with the knowledge of the husk power plant project consisting 10 units with the main contents as basic concepts of thermodynamics; Basic theory of combustion and gasification processes; Mass and energy balances for rice mills; Power plant options, Characteristics of steam CHP plant; Characteristics of gasification/engine CHP plant; Integration of CHP plant with rice mills, Incentives and regulations for on-site generation, Cash flow analysis and estimation of financial indicators, Environmental aspects and hazards and sensitivity analysis... At the same time, the trainees had two site visits at Tuyen Phat rice mill and Chau Phu rice mill and assigned practical exercises to better understand the theory and knowledge.  The trainees were divided in 4 groups and work with data provided by project owners to initially develop pre-feasibility study for their husk power plant project. The course was successfully implemented. At the end of the course, the participants presented their completed work to lectures, got feedbacks and suggestions and received the course certificates.
